Seth's Food Pics 009

Boots says she thinks it’s an early Treat day! She also said she is ready and waiting for Halloween, and that she is thinking about dressing as a black cat this year. :)

Thank you to everyone who entered the LARABAR giveaway. I ran two numbers through the random.org generator, and here are the lucky 2.

Hi Seth…I found you via your comment at Smitten Kitchen. I’m glad to have found your site. I don’t read a lot of food blogs, but I think it’ll be nice to add a guy’s perspective to the mix.

I think my favorite is Apple Pie. I like the cinnamon-y goodness. I also think the chocolate coconut one makes a nice treat, but I rarely get it since it’s not available at the Trader Joe’s where I do most of my shopping. Thanks!

Congratulations Kimberly and Alisa, I will send you an email to get your mailing info.

Along with Boots, I love Halloween. Even aside from the endless supplies of candy around every corner, I just enjoy the general attitude people have. Most people are more friendly and easy going on Halloween. People smile at the costumes, smile at the kids stuffing their bowls/bags with candy, and even smile at the “spooky” decorations adorning the doorsteps. I love seeing the creativity some people put into their costumes, and the way they act once they put on that costume. Even for adults, a lot of people kind of go back to this child-like state of freedom and uninhibited happiness when they “become” that new character, celebrity, cartoon, or whatever.

So, I have two questions for you today:
1. What are you thinking about dressing up as this Halloween?

2. What was your favorite Halloween memory?

I know one of my favorite Halloween memories was a year that I dressed as the Will Ferrell’s character, the male Spartan cheerleader from Saturday Night Live. I worked hard on the costume, sewing it myself, and was so excited about getting to wear it. Our boss let us dress up at work, and at the time I was a walking courier in the downtown area. So, all day long, I was walking through the streets, wearing my costume. You would not believe the response that people showed. Of course, most everyone smiled, but I had several people yell from across the street “Great costume”, or “I love your costume”. But, my favorite reaction was when a few people actually burst out into one of the famous “perfect cheers”.
