Wicked Waffles

20 May 2010 5 Comments

As I am posting this, we are about to run out the door to see Wicked. I read the book years ago, and given the rage everyone has made about the musical version, I guess we needed to check it out. They are only in town for 3 weeks, so tickets sold fast, and I was barely able to get seats.

And, I have to ask, what better way to celebrate seeing Wicked than with an aptly colored meal? :) This is one of those no-recipe posts. Just basic waffles and fun playing with food coloring. BTW, yes, those are green eggs sandWITCHed between the waffle halves. :)

Those of you who have seen Wicked, what did you think?

I have never seen “Wicked” but a lot of my friends have, and my mom, and they all loved it. Maybe someday I will! I recently just saw “Rent” for the first time (other than the movie) and it was great. Definitely a favorite of mine.

    Love the green stuff! :)

Matthew and I both really enjoyed Wicked. We were in the second row, which was awesome…a bit of a neckache, but seeing the costumes that close was pretty cool. The only criticism I’d make is that I personally think it’s a little too frontloaded…meaning, all of my favorite numbers were in the first half of the show, but other than that I thought it was great. I’m easy to please with musicals, though :)

My sister and I have seen it twice, and thought this year’s Elpheba (sp?) was better than the last one. Not that the last one wasn’t good, but this lady knocked it out of the park. At least we both thought so. :)

Wow, I bet you dropped a few bucks for seats in the second row! We were up in the balcony. :(

Don’t know about last year’s Elphaba, but this one did a great job. I listened to the soundtrack a few times before going, and was surprised with how close the live version came to the original cast.

I have to say that I agree with what you said about it having all the better songs in the first half.

Yep, it was great. I am so glad we decided to go. I had forgotten a lot of the storyline, because it had been years since I read it. But, yeah, I had a good time.
