Wicked Waffles

As I am posting this, we are about to run out the door to see Wicked. I read the book years ago, and given the rage everyone has made about the musical version, I guess we needed to check it out. They are only in town for 3 weeks, so tickets sold fast, and I was barely able to get seats.

Vanilla Pear French Toast

Remember this post where I showed you the delicious basket of pears Jessica sent me? As the last of them were starting to soften, I decided to incorporate them into a meal.
A few years ago, my sister told me about how her friend adds a splash of vanilla extract to her french toast. I tried it, and have been a convert ever since. I thought pears would be a nice addition, and I diced them and grilled them in the skillet along side the french toast. …
